We know that visiting a new church can feel a little nerve-wracking. We want to take all the guesswork out of your first Sunday so you can just come and experience the Lord.
Hello! We are Pastors James and Heather. Making the decision to visit a new church takes a lot of courage. We want to personally thank you for taking that step with us. When you walk through our front doors this Sunday, our biggest hope is that you feel right at home.
We believe there is freedom in this house. Freedom from worry. Freedom from trying to be perfect. Freedom to just be exactly who God made you to be.
You do not have to have everything figured out to belong here. Life is hard enough on its own, so we want this church to be a place where you can just take a deep breath and rest. We are just a group of everyday people learning how to follow the King of Kings together, and we would love for you to join us.
Fill out the short form below so we know you are coming. We will have a cup of coffee waiting for you, and we will make sure you know exactly where to go. We look forward to saying hi soon.
Be blessed!
Parking
Our parking area is on the smaller side, so it can feel a little busy when you pull in. Just drive up the hill to the main lot at the top and grab a spot. If you need an entrance without stairs, you will find our handicap accessible door right there at the top of the hill.
Kids
We keep things very simple and family-friendly. We have a nursery area just outside the sanctuary for babies and toddlers, and a separate room for elementary kids. Teens sit right in the main service with us. We set them up with clipboards and snacks so they feel completely at home.
Sunday Service
We meet in a beautiful historic one-room church. Our gatherings are relaxed, so just come in whatever you normally wear on a weekend. We sing a few songs to worship the Lord and then open up the Bible. Grab a cup of coffee, find a seat, and take things at your own pace.
Where do I park and how do I get in?
We have a parking lot right on site, so you will not have to hunt down street parking. Pull right in and find a spot. Because our building is historical, our main entrance in the back has a few steps. If you need a handicap accessible entrance without stairs, you will find it right at the front of the church. Just a quick heads up: that front door opens up right near where our worship team plays! If you are running late, please do not feel embarrassed walking through it while we are singing. Come right in. We are just glad you made it.
What should I wear?
Whatever you normally wear on a Sunday. You will see jeans, t-shirts, flannels, sneakers, and casual clothes across the room. Nobody is tracking your outfit, so just come comfortable.
Is there coffee, and can I still come in if I am running late?
Yes and yes. We always have fresh coffee, tea, and water out. If you are running ten or fifteen minutes behind because getting the family out the door was a circus, please still come in. The doors are always open. Grab a seat in the back and settle in.
What do you have for my kids during the service?
We keep things simple and family-friendly. For toddlers and younger, we have a nursery area where parents can take their little ones. For elementary kids, we have a room they can head to during the teaching. Teens sit right with us in the main service. We set the kids up with clipboards, drawing paper, and snacks so they feel right at home.
Will you make me stand up or call me out because I am new?
Not a chance. We know walking into a new place can feel awkward enough without someone pointing a spotlight at you. We love saying hello in passing, but nobody is going to hand you a microphone or put you on the spot.
I am coming by myself. Is that going to feel weird?
Not at all. Plenty of people in our room walk in solo every week. You can blend in quietly, grab a cup of coffee, and just take things in at your own pace without feeling out of place.
Can I just watch before participating?
Absolutely. Some folks like to jump right into singing, while others prefer to sit back with a cup of coffee and just observe. Take things entirely at your own pace. There are no expectations on you.
Do I need to bring a Bible?
Not at all. If you have one you like reading, bring it along. If you don't, no worries. We put scripture passages right up on the screen during the message. We also have Bibles under most of the seats if you want to borrow one.
What if I have never been to church before, or I am not sure what I believe?
You are in good company. You do not need a church background or special vocabulary to be here. We keep our teachings straightforward and practical. We are regular people learning about the grace of Jesus together, and you are always welcome to just come sit, listen, and see what you think.
Will someone pressure me to join or give money?
Never. We do take an offering during the service, but that is strictly for our regular church family who call Byram Bay home. As our guest, please do not feel obligated to put a single dollar in the basket.
Let us know you are coming.
Fill out this quick form. We will have a friendly face waiting at the door to show you where the coffee is and help you find a great seat.
